SAINT JACOB'S PROCESSION 

Project plan: Collaboration between the Flemish Club for Arts, Sciences and Letters and the St. James Procession in Brussels/Compostella Society

Mission:

The aim of this project is for the Flemish Club for Arts, Sciences and Letters and the St. James Procession in Brussels/Compostella Society to work together to put the history of Brussels and the involvement of Dutch speakers in the St. James Procession in the spotlight. to put. This collaboration will serve as a bridge between culture, art, science and the centuries-old traditions of the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage route.

Vision:

We aim to create a united initiative that celebrates the rich history of Brussels and the Compostella Route and encourages Dutch-speaking communities to participate and understand how these historical events have helped shape their identities.

Strategy:

  1. Cooperation:

    • The first step is to draw up an official cooperation agreement between the Flemish Club for Arts, Sciences and Letters and the St. Jacob Procession in Brussels/Compostella Society. This sets out the objectives, responsibilities and resources for the collaboration.

  2. Joint events:

    • Organize joint events that emphasize the history and role of Dutch speakers in the St. Jacob Procession. These may include exhibitions, lectures, parades and cultural activities.

  3. Educational programs:

    • Develop educational programs aimed at schools and the wider public to raise awareness of the historical significance of the St. James Procession and its relationship with Brussels. This may include lectures, workshops and educational materials.

  4. Digital presence:

    • Create a collaborative online presence, including a website and active social media channels, to promote and document the history and events.

  5. Heritage Conservation:

    • Collaborate on the preservation of cultural heritage related to the St. James Procession, including restoration projects and archiving of historical documents and objects.

Goals:

  • Strengthen the bond between the Flemish Club for Arts, Sciences and Letters and the St. Jacob Procession in Brussels/Compostella Society.

  • Increase awareness and appreciation for the history of Brussels and the Dutch-speaking involvement in the St. Jacob Procession.

  • Actively involve Dutch-speaking communities in events and educational programs.

  • Document and preserve historical material and heritage related to the St. James Procession.

Resources:

  • Financial support from both organizations and possible external funding.

  • Deployment of volunteers and experts in the field of history, culture, art and education.

  • Collaboration with schools and local authorities.

 

This project plan provides an overview of the mission, vision, strategy, objectives and resources to promote collaboration between the Flemish Club for Arts, Sciences and Letters and the St. Jacob Procession in Brussels/Compostella Society. It aims to be a united effort to honor and celebrate the history of Brussels and the involvement of Dutch speakers in the St. James Procession.
